Raidah Noshin

HeartConnect Psychology recommends Raidah for her work with trauma, eating disorders, teens, and self-esteem concerns. She can also see clients from both Alberta and Ontario.

Sometimes negative life events we experience in our childhood disconnect us from ourselves, and create difficulties connecting with others, our surroundings and our true purpose. I am passionate about helping you build that connection back with yourself, with the people you love and live purposeful, meaningful lives. Whether you have experienced little “t” traumas, big “T” traumas or are struck in unhealthy behaviors, patterns or relationships, I can help you get started on your healing journey to find your authentic, whole self – the you that is curious, connected and confident.

I work from a strengths-based, trauma-informed and person-centered lens where we unpack together the thoughts, behaviors and beliefs that get in the way of you living your truth. I integrate various approaches and modalities including EMDR, IFS, attachment theory, ACT, solution-focused therapy, DBT, mindfulness and clinical hypnosis among others. The reason is that my practice is a bit different with each person I see based on what they want and need from our sessions. Since it all depends on you as the client, I tailor how I work to meet the needs, the style, personality and experiences of the person I am working with. To do this, I collaborate with you to build a safe and respectful space in the therapy room. Furthermore, I work with your comfort level to provide culturally informed and identity-based care as required by you.

I am a registered social worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) and Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I have over 9 years of experience working with youth ages 13 and up, and over 5 years of experience working with adult individuals, couples, families and groups. My lived experience as a child of South Asian immigrant parents and personal health struggles have influenced my compassionate and empathic approach with my clients. My own experiences of marginalization and (not) belonging pushes me to create a safe, trusting and inclusive environment in our sessions. In my free time, I can be found doing yoga, enjoying food and spending time with my family. I am fluent in English and Bengali and can provide counselling in both languages.

I look forward to walk alongside you, to empower you, and to be a part of your journey towards healing, wellness and self-fulfillment.
